H O P E is the opening of an extending project which will, hopefully, go on be reinterpreted in fresh, exciting and challenging ways.
I’ve always wanted to get things on tape quickly, work through ideas and see where it leads. When I first started making music I would fill cassette after cassette with both written and spontaneously invented songs. The idea was always to catch the feel or the phrasing in whatever way I could and with whatever strange ‘instruments’ i could create or misuse. Days would disappear. Lost in creativity.
I still work very quickly and intensely and love the high I get from it. Even so, there’s still something I miss from those early years and it isn't nostalgia. When you give no consideration to style or genre self-expression becomes totally free, and for an artist, of any kind, that’s the best place to be. And that’s exactly where I was when I recorded this.
At the time of this release there are already 5 further explorations of
H O P E underway around the globe and I can’t wait to hear the results. It really does feel like it’s the start of something special.
Presenting 3 stellar remixes of the original tracks cut on clear wax from Dylan Davis, ( dyLAB ) Henri Sizaret ( AkA ) & David Harrow (Oicho) reshaping the atmosphere and mood of the originals by sliding through a deep techno groove and picking up dark acid and IBM swag along the way. Which resulted in all proceeds magically turning into electricity! Miff Morris
