SOMETHING ESPECIALLY WRONG FOR THE LABEL'S 60th. RELEASE

As a result of 'the great Wrong Revolution clear-out' of 2023 quite a few things surfaced which had, for one reason or another, either been omitted from album releases or had got lost or forgotten along the way.

I started out discovering a few Hoodoo tracks which had never seen the light of day and then realised there were a couple of ex-White Trash numbers that i'd revisited when i returned to making music in 2011. It felt like i had a theme for a re-work album that would re-wire , amp-up, distort and collage some much loved tracks that had always felt like they'd not quite shone as they ought.

I don't do pop, but for me, every now and then a track will be created which i jokingly classify as commercial. Usually this prophecy is quickly disproven but, all the same, those tracks lodge somewhere in my psyche and i always imagine them as my 'pop hits'!

After getting further into the process of re-working i realised i ought to do a complete album of Hoodoo reworks (WRNG61) and decided to shape Historic Distortions in the way that i might make a compilation. Red C, Parasites, Hot Love Express & Devil Music are the 'pop hits' and then come the more obscure gems of sonic architecture that mash together tracks from as far back as '85 along with stolen moments and new utterances coming all the way up to now.

It feels right, in a Wrong way, to have finally collected and re-defined these tracks into the disjointed cohesion it's become.
