Shangri-Lies is the collaboration between three legends in their own right:

DJ Parrot (Crooked Man, Sweet Exorcist, All Seeing I, On, Hoodoo, Funky Worm, +)
Mark Brydon (Chakk, FON Force, Cloud 9, Moloko, DJ Plankton)
Pete Hope (The Box, Hope/Kirk, Hoodoo, Exploding Mind, pH2, Hope/Harrow, +)

Both Parrot & Brydon were pioneers of different aspects of Sheffield’s dance music scene; Parrot as a DJ and creator of the city’s iconic club nights, and also instigator of the ‘bleep’ sound via Sweet Exorcist’s legendary Test Tone which significantly influenced many acts in the early 90’s. Brydon as a producer & bassist, instrumental in setting up FON (Fuck Off Nazis) Studios, working with Chakk, Funky Worm, Sly & Robbie, Human League & countless others. Along with Róisín Murphy he formed Moloko, who soon found International success. Pete Hope continues to ply his individual vocal talents and has worked with both Brydon & Parrot numerous times (Cloud 9 / Hoodoo / White Trash).

Together they created these three tracks of rolling, futuristic and experimental house in 2012. This was released on vinyl on Crooked's own label. Now there's a heavy load of remixes by the key players in the NYH fam, taking these tracks even further down the rabbit hole. From abstract to just plain heavy, check out these 7 remixes and the 3 originals and feel the 2012 creativity taking a trip into the evil future of 2019. Get ready for Drain / Greed / Hunger!
